I left my bike unlocked at a bank bike rack?
I volunteer at a hospital and I left my bike today at a bank's bike rack (the bank is always closed for some reason lol) and activity in the area is not bad, but I forgot to lock my bicycle. Why am I lucky it wasn't stolen? It's a medium sized town.

- It's an ugly bike?
- yea
- cause ur bike is a piece of Sh*t
- In memphis, people will cut the locks and still your bike off of campus
- I hope it is still there for you
- Because it was unlocked. If I don't lock my bike, it's guaranteed to be stolen.
- why do you care? it wasn't stolen - be happy!
- Theftry is a lot less common than most people realize...
- That's a very silly question. How can ANY of us tell you why you are lucky it wasn't stolen? Why would you even ask that. Maybe if you keep trying hard enough, it WILL get stolen. Then will you post a question asking why we think it WAS stolen?
- maybe the people there are not thieves?
- because usually people take things that aren't locked for any reason
- Because no matter where you live people steal bikes. Next time consider whether you value your bicycle or not and lock it. If you had it stolen how would you feel about it? Leaving it unlocked is an invitation for a thief.
- maybe you were just lucky, but you should be careful anyways. you were lucky probably because you were doing something good and not being selfish so maybe if you hadn't it would have been like a punishment. but that's cool that no one stole it. lucky :D
- good for you, so next time don't leave it unlocked.
- It is a roll of the dice my friend. Yes You are lucky. Why? Because we do not live in a perfect world and crime can occur anywhere, especially if you invite it
- How old is your bike? Thieves tend to steal newer looking bikes, also bike racks are usually set in very visible areas, so thieves are less daring to do the job because anybody in the area might own the bike. Don't make it a habit tho or you'll be out of luck!
- Dude, be grate full that some doomas didn't get his hands on your bicycle. lol ..do u have to ask such kind of questions.
- why are you lucky?.......because if it were stolen you would be on foot..at least until you could buy a new one . & then you would have to be more care full because whoever stole it would be expecting you to buy a new one & hope that you would be as careless as you had been before....that would afford them the opportunity to steel your new bike...if you keep repeating that cycle they will become wealthy by starting their own bike sale,s shop....& perhaps have the opportunity to sell you your own bike back to you....don,t be stupid...remember to secure your bike & engrave a serial number on it for identification purposes.
- Be glad you don't live in Amsterdam. The local junkies steal bikes to order - the advantage being if your bike gets stolen you can walk over to Centraal Station and buy another (maybe even your own!) for 25 Euros. Everybody there has a least two bikes, one good lightweight for weekends and one old crappy one for daily use.
- Weird question, thanks for the points. Maybe this was a lesson to scare you enough to always lock you bike from now on.
- who knows. why not leave it at the hospital<
- For the same reason you're lucky you didn't get HIT while riding the dang thing. LUCK, but BOTH are going to happen EVENTUALLY.
