Bicycle Baby Carrier Knowledge Base
Is there a baby carrier for beach cruiser bicycles? Im looking for a baby seat for a women's beach cruiser. I know there is some that mount to the rear of the bicycle, but Im looking for one that attaches to the front like on the frame of the bike any suggestions?
Can a baby 5 months old, 16 lbs and 26 inches long (not walking yet), use the CoPilot Limo Bicycle Child Seat? Most baby bike carriers say that the child must be one year old and not more than a specific weight, but the CoPilot Limo Bicycle Child Seat simply says that you can use the bike carrier with a child up to 40 lbs. So does that mean that I can use the bike carrier with any baby under 40 lbs? I would really love to hear from someone with experience with this product. Babies uaually gain control about 4 months.
Where can I get a helmet for my 8 month old baby? A friend just got me the child carrier seat for my bicycle and I need to know where to get a helmet. Thanks! I have looked at Target, walmart, sports authority and none of them have helmets small enough for her. I know it is not recommended to take them until they are one year of age however my daughter is walking on her own and I have spoke with her doctor and he thinks she is strong enough for me to take her.
What is the most useless thing you have ever bought for your baby? You know, one of those things you had to have, and after you bought them, used them maybe once or twice? Mine would be the grocery cart cover, you know, the ones you put on the cart and your kids sit in them. When I wasn't forgetting it at home, I didn't feel like lugging it and my baby and my purse, so I just grabbed a wipe and wiped the seat and handle down before I put Sam in. Another would be the baby carrier you strap on your back or front and carry the baby in. It was a pain in the butt to get on and get the baby in, and then my son would start screaming after being in it about five minutes, anyway! Share some of yours, hopefully we can keep the newer moms from making the same mistake! Oh, yea, as if those weren't bad enough, I bought one of those strollers you attach to the back of your bicycle and put the kids in so you can pull them, from a garage sale for 40 bucks a few days ago. And when I got home, and my husband saw it, he said "what the heck are you gonna do with that thing? You don't even have a bike???!!" Oh, yea, I forgot about the sleep positioner, I bought one of those, too. Stayed in Sam's bed for only two nights, though!!
Bicycling Across America - Questions? Well I am not doing the whole united states travel this time. Seeing as this is my first time doing a long distance bike ride, I am going to do just from north to south coast. I am starting in Portland OR and going to the bottom of southern california. I have most of it planned out, except sleeping and safety. You see, I can not afford to get a hotel every night so I decided to bring a sleeping bag and a tarp instead. Any suggestions of where to sleep? Rest areas are out of the question, as I want to plan my route to where I am in a city everytime I sleep, for obvious reasons. I am doing this journey alone, and I am quite aware of the dangers. But in reality, there are always dangers. Any suggestions about sleeping and how to protect my stuff when I am asleep? I am bringing a baby carrier that attaches to the back, if that helps.
